haha. I was born in 1989. I know the first verse from my dad who would occasionally start randomly singing this song while bored. never heard the rest. When I'm feeling lonely, I think of this song... but alas I don't think anyone I know will get the reference.

My mother would sometimes sing the first part of this song at me when I was sad. I was about age 4, and didn't know it was a real song. I thought she was actually telling me that nobody would love me if I was sad. Spent the better part of my childhood/teenage years pretending to be happy even if I wasn't. I guess it never occurred to her that children think differently than adults.
